“My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” — Psalm 63:1b
God has the answer for a thirsty soul!
“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) — Jesus (John 7:38-39)
Jesus has now been glorified and the Holy Spirit is available for the asking.
Two Additional Thoughts:
- Why settle for a canteen when whole river is offered?
- Wanting is not the same as asking

Some find it too ludicrous to believe the God who keeps the universe running would be interested or even have the time to be concerned with the desires and feelings of an insignificant individual human being. That’s because we have too small a concept of God.
You don’t need to figure everything out or worry when you don’t understand what I am doing. A child only needs to know his dad loves him and will care for him.
