Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are…when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own. — 1st John 3:1-3 (The Message Bible)
I learned something about recognizing value when I gave away company stock. I had received it as a youth because I was family and had no idea how much it was worth until I gave it away for free.
Afterwards, the realization of what I lost hit me but it was too late. Something similar can happen in a church or to those in a Christian home who grow up with eternal opportunity freely given by Jesus’ sacrifice.
There is a future for those who remain faithful to Christ. We need to keep that future in focus to stay pure and faithful.

God and Satan talk in the Bible and it looks like a giant chess game with Job’s family as the pawns. In the garden God calls to Adam, “Where are you?”, but doesn’t he already know? Joshua is told by God to leave no survivors; where is the love and mercy in that?! People are offended by these and other scriptures, sometimes wanting nothing to do with God because if it.
